Wales 3 - 0 San Marino

Gareth Bale scored the goal of the night with a left footed curler from outside the box to make it 2 - 0 and the final score came from the penalty spot from Jason Koumas.

If it was 10 - 0 it would have been a fair reflection on the possession and chances created but Wales overplayed at times, trying to walk the ball into the net, and they were denied by some good saves from the San marino keeper.

Because of the level of the opposition it's difficult to draw many conclusions from the game. Basically it was job done to earn 3 points.

Jermaine Easetr disappointed in his first Welsh start, considering the quality of the opposition he should have had a field day in front of goal but his all round play was poor.

The other disappointing factor on the night was a Millenium Stadium with barely 18,000 fans in it.

The star performer was the referee. He looked like he'd enjoyed a few pies in his time and his defining moment came when he saved himself the trouble of pacing out 10 yards for a Welsh free kick by asking his linesman to come on the pitch and do it for him.

He was good though with the diving, feighning injury and general antics of the San Marino players who found themselves ignored in the main when the started to play up.
