Wales senior squad for Poland friendly

Stockport goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams is the only uncapped player named in Wales' squad to face Poland in a friendly to be staged in the Portuguese town of Vila Real St Antonio on February 11.

It is Fon Williams' first senior call-up, having been promoted from the under-21s squad who did so well last year in the UEFA championships before losing out against England in a play-off to reach the finals.

The former Crewe keeper, 21, takes the place of Derby 'keeper Lewis Price, who has had little senior activity this season and has been out on loan with MK Dons for a spell.

Wales boss John Toshack has named a strong 27-man squad for the match, held on the Algarve where Poland will be in warm-weather training ahead of their World Cup qualifiers which follow their winter break.

Wales do have injury worries in the squad. Nottingham Forest's Rob Earnshaw has a hamstring injury while Peterborough's Craig Morgan had a scan today on a leg injury.

Midfielder Andrew Crofts is also recalled now he has completed a transfer from Gillingham to Peterborough. There's no place for Freddy Eastwood.
