Bateson expects to go to tribunal

Torquay United chairman Mike Bateson has revealed that any transfer fee received for last season's player of year Adebayo Akinfenwa, who joined Swansea City this week, will be decided by a Football League tribunal.

The 23-year-old striker joined on a two-year deal after scoring 15 goals for the Gulls last term.

Bateson said: "I have been in discussions with the Swansea chairman but we have been unable to agree on a fee for Bayo.

"We will keep talking but the longer it goes on the more likely it looks as though it's going to end up going to a tribunal to be fixed."
