Burgess has definitely ruled out for at least two months, although he could be out for much longer, possibly until Christmas.
Burgess had been Swansea boss Kenny Jackett's top transfer target of the summer, but after agreeing a fee for the player, he appeared to hesitate over discussing terms with the League One side and Jackett pulled the plug on the deal, citing the player's lack of enthusiasm as the reason for ending his interest.
