Burgess Transfer Off

Rushden & Diamonds midfielder Andy Burgess will not be joining Swansea City after transfer talks broke down.

Burgess had requested a transfer at the end of last season and seemed set for a move to south Wales, however, Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins was concerned that Burgess was taking too long to consider the offer they had made him.

Jenkins and Jackett shared the view that Burgess should show more desire to join them in League One and as a result transfer talks have fallen through.

While Rushden are believed to be keen to keep him, Burgess may now look for a move elsewhere before the new season begins.
