Cardiff City new recruit Phil Mulryne believes his new side can launch a promotion challenge this season thanks to Norwich City.
The Northern Ireland international Mulryne is on a mission to help another club up to the Premiershipm, having previously help see the Canaries into English football's top flight.
"Norwich City weren't really fancied to go up, but we had a squad who wanted to play for each other," said Mulryne.
"We all got on well and we sneaked in there and went into the Premiership because we all wanted it so much.
"I sense a similar spirit, a hunger for team success, at Cardiff City.
"After I went on the pre-season tour to Scotland that spirit made it an easy decision to sign.
"There were other clubs interested and I wanted to be patient, to make the right decision.
"I want to be playing in a team challenging for success.
"In the end it had to be Cardiff City.
"And the reason for that is Dave Jones is building a team of players willing to give everything for each other.
"He has already brought in players with loads of experience, tough players who like to win."
Mulryne faces a tough battle to win a starting place in Dave Jones' first XI with plenty competition in the centre of midfield, however, a good showing in pre-season means that the former Manchester United youngster could make his debut for the Bluebirds against Ipswich Town on Saturday at Portman Road.
