Colwyn Bay 0 - 4 Wrexham

League Two side Wrexham cruised to a 4-0 pre-season win over Unibond League side Colwyn Bay at Llanelian Road last night.

The game was hastily arranged last week replacing the intented friendly with Witton Albion, after their pitch was found to be in poor condition, yet still attracted 700 fans to the game.

The first half was competitve, yet even as both teams looked for an opening goal. The deadlock finally broken on the stroke of half time with a fine strike from trainee Mike Williams as the Colwyn Bay native unleashed a curling shot from inside the box fooling Seagulls' keeper Matthew Parry.

A displeased Wrexham boss Denis Smith rang the changes at half time introducing three triallists as he looked for better fortunes in the second half.

The second half side was one of the youngest Wrexham have fielded in a long time, with seven teenagers on the pitch after the hour mark.

The game was essentially over just after the hour as former Arsenal youngster Aaron Samuel scored his first goal of the night, unleashing an unstoppable shot from a Jon Walters flick on.

Samuel scored his second goal just two minutes later, as Parry fumbled a Matty Done corner under pressure from Williams, allowing the eighteen-year old triallist to force the ball home in the six-yard box.

Matty Done then ended the scoring with a fine goal, picking the ball up on the half way line, riding one challenge before unleashing a magnificant 25-yard effort which had enough power to beat the Colwyn Bay keeper.

The result was inevitable and the winning margin should have been higher with McEvilly, Bayliss, Crowell and Mark Jones all going close.

The home side played some neat football but failed to create more than a handful of half chances and never really looked like troubling Wrexham who have now scored 7 goals in 2 games this week.
