Feyernood defender Glenn Loovens is set to sign for Cardiff City on a season-long loan after turning down a move to Scotland with Falkirk and snubbing Stoke City.
The highly-rated 21-year old said: "I think the Championship will suit me.
"In Scotland you have almost the same playing style, but every club plays four times in a year against each other.
"Cardiff plays in a league with 24 clubs. That sounds more appealing to me."
Loovens is said to be: "... a big strong right footed central defender who is very good in the air and reasonably well on the ball.
"He has played a lot of league and European games for Feyenoord especially in the year when Feyenoord won the UEFA Cup and since then he unfortunately hasn't been given the opportunity to shine.
"He was sent on loan to De Graafschap the final half of last season and he played quite well there. He's an extremely nice guy who will fit in at Cardiff without any problems."
