Cardiff City boss Dave Jones could be forced to field rookie central defenders when their pre-season campaign gets underway at Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
The Bluebirds have lost Robert Page, Tony Vidmar, Danny Gabbidon and James Collins in recent months, and currently have one central defender at the club, while it is still unsure how long it will take to bring in Manchester City defender Mikkel Bischoff.
That only leaves youngsters 20-year old Byron Anthony and 19-year-old Danny Parslow who could fill the positions as Jones desperately tries to bring in experienced recruits.
