Swansea City hothead Andy Robinson has vowed to clean up his act next season after suffering the heartache of missing the last ever league game at the Vetch Field last season against Shrewsbury after picking up a seven-game ban.
The 25-year old midfielder picked up nine bookings and two red cards last season, the second coming at Bristol Rovers in April.
As well as missing the final league game at the Vetch, Robinson also missed the promotion clincher at Bury on the last day of the season and will also miss the first FIVE games of the new season, which will see Swansea playing at their new stadium at Morfa.
Birkenhead-born Robinson said: "I've got to clean up the niggly side of my game. I've got to learn to walk away when players try and wind me up.
"Last season was a learning curve for me. I learned a lot about my discipline and those problems are behind me now.
"I've learned from my mistakes and I'm going to let my feet do the talking next season.
"The best way to get people back is to go past them and either score a goal and create one. That's what the gaffer has told me."
Robinson saw a red mist for violent conduct in the bad-tempered defeat at Shrewsbury last November. He placed his head in Darren Moss's face following a robust challenge by the Wales Under-21 defender.
The former Tranmere player was sent off again at Bristol Rovers for a similar offence on Ryan Williams.
Ironically perhaps, Robinson's first red card last season was against Shrewsbury at Gay Meadow, while the incident against Bristol Rovers saw Robinson dragged off the pitch by team-mates with a four-game ban being increased to seven by the FAW.
Robinson, who was also had off the pitch problems was involved in an incident at a nightclub in Swansea which saw him landed with a public order offence, fined £300 by Swansea magistrates and docked two weeks' wages by Jackett, who also issued the player with a stern warning.
The former Tranmere player added: "I don't want to get sent off. I don't want to get yellow cards. I've got to cut all that out.
"We're playing in a fantastic new stadium and I want to run out into it with the rest of the lads. I don't want to be sitting in the stand.
"I ended up being suspended for the last league game at the Vetch and that was really painful for me.
"I played most of the season. I was involved in almost everything, on and off the pitch, then I missed one of the biggest games in the club's history.
"That last league game at the Vetch was the first fixture I looked out for when they came out before the season started. Everyone here was looking forward to that game.
"I had to sit with the crowd and watch it and that was a killer for me. I did play in the FAW Premier Cup final against Wrexham and I scored the last goal at the Vetch. So that was a little bit of a consolation.
"But that last league game at the Vetch will never happen again.
"I've been getting a lot of advice from the gaffer and the backroom staff. He's told me to go out, let my football do the talking and not to get sucked into anything.
"Football is a passionate game and things happen in the heat of the moment. But I've got to walk away from trouble.
"If the opposition think I've got a short fuse they will pick up on that and try and kick me.
"I'm an honest person and I will hold my hands up and say I was out of order if I've been a bad boy.
"I don't want to go into last season again, but certain players did things to me, niggly things that you don't want to see in football.
"I've also got to be careful of losing my place in the side.
"If I'm suspended someone has to replace me and, if he does well, then I'm going to struggle to get back into the side."
Robinson's first league game of the season will likely be the game at Walsall on August 27.
