Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins insists Gavin Williams' provocation of Swansea supporters during a game at the Vetch Field in 2003 will not deter the club from pursuing the West Ham United midfielder.
Swans boss Kenny Jackett has enquired about Williams who wound up 9,000 home fans after scoring in Yeovil's 3-2 defeat by the Swans in December 2003.
Jenkins revealed that no discussions have taken place with the Hammers for Williams yet, however, he maintained that the players' past misdemeanour was not a factor in any potential transfer.
He said: "That would have no bearing on anything and we are always on the look-out for good players who might become available.
"I still think we need another one or two players and Williams is a midfielder who can score goals."
