Swansea boss Kenny Jackett is putting his squad through a week-long 'boot camp' with military physical training instructors leading sessions.
Speaking today Akinfenwa said: "It's the hardest week of my life, I'm not going to lie, but it was a good bonding experience.
"I was feeling pain in places I'd never even heard of or felt before, but it's something that had to be done."
Meanwhile Swansea captain Robbie Martinez believes the club could reach the Premiership in a few years time, with the Spaniard confident the club can recapture the glory days of the John Toshack era.
