"It was fair, both sides had chances - although they made a save outside the box," (referring to an obvious hand ball out the area by the Bulgarian keepr which went unpunished)

"It was a good exercise, especially getting the likes of Danny Gabbidon and Mark Delaney back after injury.

"We made changes to protect the squad and the young lads did well when they came on. It all starts for real against the Czech Republic on 2 September."
