And tonight Toshack will be able to see how he performs against Chelsea in the 1st leg of the Carling Cup semi final.

"I've always said that if a player is good enough, whatever his age, or whatever division he is playing in, I will pick him for Wales," said Toshack.

"I picked Evans and Morgan of MK Dons for recent games, and they each did well for us. In fact, the pair of them had excellent debuts.

"I've heard a lot about Easter so it's time for me to have a good look at him myself. Our problems up front are well documented and the more players we can have coming through in that area, the better. I repeat the story I've told before of recently seeing a Wales match programme for a game in 1997. Among the pen pics were the names of Ian Rush, Mark Hughes, John Hartson, Dean Saunders, Nathan Blake and Iwan Roberts.

"We don't have traditional centre-forwards like that any more, but we've got to create more competition for places up front.

"And I will continue to look at as many players as I need to in order to do that."
