Toshack's views after the final whistle in Teplice

“Our approach play fell down too often with our use of the final ball.

“But we must do better in possession than we did. It is a cruel defeat... but you should not concede another goal after that, it's criminal.

“What disappointed me was that we had chances to create chances, our last ball wasn't good enough. We got to their box and normally people we expect to do better, didn't – the two clear-cut chances in particular.”

“If Craig had put that clear chance away in the first half it would have been a different game. We were playing well against them at that stage, and then Craig hits the post with another great opportunity in the second period.

“And Joe Ledley, just after he came on, could have thrown himself at one cross in the six-yard box, but he didn't do that either.

“Paul Jones wasn't asked to make many saves despite them attacking and attacking. We handled it well at the back.

“But I am sure we can do better when we are in possession ourselves, we let ourselves down.

“I am disappointed for the younger lads, it has hit them hard. We had a good week of preparation, although Craig did spend the previous 24 hours in bed with a temperature, he was doubtful right up until the last minute.”
