The FAW have requested that the Racecourse be made available to stage next season’s U21 international with England.

However, it has yet to be confirmed whether Wrexham will be playing their games at the ground in 2005/06 or if the stadium will still exist beyond July this year, although the FAW are happy to wait for the decision in the summer, knowing that the 15,500 capacity will likely be reached for the game.

Wales U21 recently played a game against Germany at the Racecourse with 4,000 making it to the ground to see Germany inflict a humiliating 4-0 defeat on former Wrexham manager Brian Flynn’s first game in charge.

The England side will be packed with household names from the Premier League and Championship with interest expected to be through the roof with many people flocking to North Wales for the tie if it goes ahead there.
