The 31-year old left the Mariners in 1996 for the heights of Blackburn Rovers in a £1.7m deal before moving to Ipswich after three years in Lancashire.
Croft has also had loan spells at Wigan and Cardiff before moving to Ninian Park on a free transfer in 2002.
