For Swansea and Wrexham there were FA Cup victories.

Riccy Scimeca scored Cardiff's winner in a 1 - 0 victory over Burnley at Ninian Park. With 2nd placed Preston only drawing it meant City moved three points clear at the top of the table.

Wrexham beat Stevenage Borough 1 - 0 to move into round 2 of the FA Cup and an away fixture at either Cheltenham or Scunthorpe.

All the headlines though were made at Spytty Park. Swansea beat Newport County 3 - 1 but there was an incident where the 4th official was hit by a coin and needed minor surgery to a head would that kept him in the Royal Gwent overnight.

Newport's manager was sent from the dugout seconds before the coin incident and Newport's big day was not a happy one.

Swansea's reward was an away trip to Darlington in round 2.
